Partner News: UCLA Samueli Launches Mentor Professor Program to Enhance Equity and Diversity

The UCLA Samueli School of Engineering is proud to welcome three new faculty members to its growing roster of nearly 200 full-time professors. The recruitment is part of the school’s Mentor Professor Program, a new initiative designed to hire faculty with a demonstrated record of, or who show exceptional promise for, mentorship of students from underrepresented and underserved populations.

Henry and Susan Samueli Give $100 million to Expand UCLA’s Engineering School

The UCLA Samueli School of Engineering has received its largest gift ever: $100 million from longtime supporters Henry and Susan Samueli. The gift, made through the Samueli Foundation, will be used to spur the engineering school’s planned expansion, which is to continue well into the next decade and is its most significant growth since the school was founded in 1945.

Samueli Foundation Engineering Undergraduate Scholarship Fund Announced

The UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science received a $20 million gift from the Samueli Foundation to support expanding the diversity of undergraduate students in engineering and computer science. The donation, which builds on Henry and Susan Samueli’s previous gifts, will fund a new program combining scholarships and internships for as many as 50 freshman students annually.
