Dr. Shauntina Sorrells serves as Chief Program Officer for the Samueli Foundation. Shauntina is a dynamic, recognized leader with an extensive background in social work, program development, and organizational leadership. Her journey in social impact has been marked by a steadfast commitment to improving the lives of families and young people and fostering positive change in communities. With a diverse and accomplished career, Shauntina has made a lasting impact through her various roles and contributions.
She most recently served as Chief Program Officer at the Orangewood Foundation, where she spearheaded a series of transformative initiatives that have significantly elevated the organization’s impact on the community. Under her visionary leadership, key accomplishments include the successful launch of groundbreaking programs such as Youth Connected, Lyon Workforce, Graduate House, and Casa De Rosemary. These initiatives have not only provided vital support to countless youth but have also set new standards for program excellence.
Shauntina serves as an adjunct professor at several esteemed institutions, holds certifications in Group Home Administration and Domestic Violence Advocacy, and has received honors, including the Gene Lentzner Human Relations Award and recognition as one of Orange County’s Most Influential People. She is active in community service through participation on non-profit boards and county-wide commissions on homelessness. Shauntina earned her Doctor of Social Work (DSW) degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California.
