A Message from Henry & Susan Samueli

We are horrified and deeply saddened by the barbaric attack that took place in Israel. We stand firmly and unequivocally with Israel, with those who have been killed or harmed, with those who’ve been called to serve in Israel’s defense, and for those on the frontlines caring for the injured. Gratefully, our Israel-based family, friends, and colleagues are physically unharmed.

We are also holding our wonderful Foundation partners located in Israel close in our hearts. Through their contributions in science, technology, education, health care and culture, they collectively work in service of creating a better, more peaceful world. May they all remain safe.

In 2011, we signed The Giving Pledge. In our pledge letter we stated:

We both have strong ties to our Jewish heritage. Charitable giving, also known as tzedakah, is a cornerstone of our culture and upbringing. We are committed to promoting a strong Jewish culture in our community, promoting tolerance and understanding among different religious cultures, and supporting the state of Israel.

Our commitment then remains steadfast and ever truer today.

There are many financial and non-financial ways to help. We’ve chosen to start by donating $500,000 to three organizations.

  • Magen David Adom
  • United Hatzalah
  • IsraAid

In November, we are donating $1,000,000 to four organizations:

  • ZAKA
  • Rashi Foundation
  • The Davidoff Center at Rabin Medical Center
  • Shalhavot Chabad
