Samueli Foundation Engineering Undergraduate Scholarship Fund Announced

The UCLA Henry Samueli School of Engineering and Applied Science received a $20 million gift from the Samueli Foundation to support expanding the diversity of undergraduate students in engineering and computer science. The donation, which builds on Henry and Susan Samueli’s previous gifts, will fund a new program combining scholarships and internships for as many as 50 freshman students annually.

Early Childhood Professionals Come Together for Hands-On STEM Learning

Over 400 Early Childhood educators, administrators, business leaders and more gathered together Saturday, March 18 for the 2017 Orange County Early Childhood STEM Symposium held at the Anaheim Marriott. This year’s symposium provided 7 hours of professional development through various hands-on workshops, and a special keynote session featuring Astronaut Leland Melvin.

Chapman University Presented 18th Annual Holocaust Art and Writing Contest Awards Ceremony

Chapman University’s annual Holocaust Art and Writing Contest reached new heights this year with a record-breaking 250 middle and high schools registered to participate.  Now in its 18th year, the contest involves some 7,000 students representing 30 states and eight countries.  Each school sends forward to the final round of judging three entries on the theme “I Have a Story to Tell.” The awards ceremony honoring entries in prose, poetry, art, and film, was held in Chapman’s Memorial Hall on Friday, March 10, at 11 a.m. with over  1,000 students and teachers and 20 Holocaust survivors from Orange and Los Angeles Counties in attendance.
