The Samueli Foundation considers grants to agencies, primarily in Orange 

County, California, that serve the community in one of the five major areas, 

and whose programs meet the guidelines listed in each area. The Samueli 

Foundation does not fund umbrella fundraising organizations, political 

campaigns, or grants to individuals.

Grants are usually approved for a defined period of time, but may be paid 

over a multi-year period.  The Foundation’s Board of Directors will determine 

final action on all grant applications. Agencies that receive grants from the 

Samueli Foundation must provide fiscal and programmatic accountability.
