The Samueli Foundation has a two-phase application process, the first of
which is a Letter of Inquiry. If there is interest upon review of the Letter
of Inquiry, the Foundation’s Program Director will contact you for further
information and may ask you to submit a formal Grant Application for
funding consideration. The Grant Application phase is by invitation only.
The Letter of Inquiry should be no more than three (3) pages long (lengthy
letters and attachments are discouraged) and should include the following
● Statement of organization’s purpose, objectives and a brief
summary of history, major accomplishments and services offered
● Geographic area and population served
● A brief description of the project under consideration, including
benefits to the community and a list of any collaborating
● Requested amount of grant, total project budget and other
● Total organization budget in current fiscal year and funding sources
Your organization’s 501c(3) letter must accompany your Letter of
Inquiry, as only publicly supported charities will be considered.
