Institute
The Music Intelligence
Neural Development (MIND) Institute is an organization based on the dramatic and ground breaking
research by a team of scientists, including MIND Institute’s co-founder Dr. Gordon Shaw. Stemming
from this research, which used music as a window into higher brain function (the “Mozart Effect”),
the MIND Institute developed its Music Spatial-Temporal Math Program. This program is designed to
benefit elementary school students to develop thinking skills. It uses music training, computer-generated
exercises, and a high-level math curriculum that integrates with the standard classroom material. For

Project
Tomorrow
Project Tomorrow
is a business and education community collaborative dedicated to enhancing K-12 science education
and literacy in Orange County schools. Project Tomorrow accomplishes its mission by facilitating
school programs for students, professional development for educators, and community involvement.
The organization recognizes innovative teaching and outstanding leadership in the area of science

of California, Irvine (UCI) Henry Samueli School of Engineering
The
Samueli Foundation made a major grant to the UCI School of Engineering in 1999.
A portion is being used for endowed faculty positions, a Graduate Fellowship Endowment,
and an Undergraduate Scholarship Endowment. The remaining amount will be used for

of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Henry Samueli School of
Engineering & Applied Science
The Samueli Foundation
made a major grant to the UCLA Foundation in support of the School of Engineering and
Applied Science (SEAS) in 1999. A portion was applied to an endowment fund for SEAS to
be used to endow Graduate Fellowships, Funds for Faculty Excellence, Teaching Awards,
Term Chair, etc. for the exclusive use of the Electrical Engineering Department. In
addition, the fund shall be used to establish a basket of endowments including Graduate
Fellowships, Term Chairs, Teaching Awards, etc. for use by other departments of the SEAS.
The remaining amount will be drawn upon for payments toward SEAS capital construction or
other SEAS priority projects of benefit to all SEAS departments. For information

Chapman
University is a university engaged in distinguished liberal
arts and professional programs that are
interconnected, reach beyond the boundaries of the classroom and
work towards developing the whole person: the intellectual,
physical, social, and spiritual dimensions of life.
The Samueli Foundation has supported Chapman University since 2001
in programs such as the Samueli Scholars Program, in Computer
Science Emphasis in Integrated Circuit Design, School
of Film and Television, Rodgers Center for Holocaust Education
and Essay Contest, and many other events. In 2003 a grant was
given to The Sala and Aron Samueli Holocaust Memorial Library.

The
Brain Injury Foundation
The Brain Injury
Foundation generates the financial support for the Tustin School for Traumatic
Brain Injury so that children and young adults between the ages of 5 and 22 years
old with acquired or traumatic brain injury do not have to be separated from their
loved ones to receive the education they need. The Tustin School is a non-public
school, certified by the California Department of Education, Special Education Division.
It offers a 12 month comprehensive educational and therapeutic program designed to
increase the students’ educational, social and community independence skills.

Shea Therapeutic Riding Center, Home of the Joswick Program
The
Joswick Program of the Shea Therapeutic Riding Center provides
equine facilitated therapy to people of
all ages with various disabilities ranging from blindness to cerebral
palsy. The Center is a state-of-the-art facility, with trained
therapists who work with hundreds of riders
weekly. It consistantly has a waiting list as the demand for
services grows (over 500,000 live with some form of disability
in Orange County). The Center needs funds to defray the
cost of the lessons and volunteers to work with the students.

Wayne Cancer Institute
Since
1981, the John Wayne name has been committed to groundbreaking cancer
research in memory of the much-loved actor who died of cancer.
The John Wayne Cancer Institute (JWCI) at Saint John's Health Center
has received worldwide acclaim for advances in understanding the
disease, focusing on melanoma (skin cancer), breast, lung, colon,
pancreatic and liver cancer, as
well as lymphoma and leukemia. With its unique ability to rapidly
turn scientific breakthroughs into innovative approaches to treatment

Institute for Information Biology
The Samueli
Institute for Information Biology is a non-profit, non-affiliated medical research organization supporting the
scientific investigation of healing processes with information biology and its application in health
and disease. The Institute conducts and supports creative and rigorous scientific research through a

The
Susan Samueli Center for Integrative Medicine supports the conduct
of meaningful research and the development of medical school curricula

KIDWORKS
is committed to community building and youth outreach in Santa Ana. KIDWORKS offers children and teens opportunities
to grow educationally, spiritually and socially through a variety of programs and services. Homework Clubs, a school
readiness program, Kids Bible Clubs, the Teen Leadership Academy, computer classes and other special activities all
contribute to helping build a strong Santa Ana community. Family programs such as parenting classes, community

Opportunity
International creates and sustains microfinance programs in 25
countries, creating jobs for families struggling to break out
of poverty. Loans of $35 to $200 fund small businesses that give
families a steady income so they can secure decent shelter, keep

recipients are women, many of whom live in Africa where the AIDS

Orangewood
Children’s Foundation
Orangewood
Children's Foundation provides services and resources for abused
children and emancipating foster youth. The Foundation's partnership
with the Orangewood Children's Home ensures that abused children
removed from their caretakers find safe refuge and care until
they are placed in a foster or group home. In addition, the Foundation
helps children and teens in the foster care system by providing
them with small grants for special needs, educational workshops,
and mentoring. Finally, the Foundation assists teens leaving
the foster care system with scholarships, transitional housing
and mentors to help them transition to life on their own. To

Samueli
Jewish Campus
The
Samueli Jewish Campus consists of the widely acclaimed Tarbut
V’Torah Community Day School (K-12), and the planned new and
expanded site of the JCC, the Jewish Federation and five other
organizations designed to meet the needs of the growing Jewish
community of Orange County. A number of these agencies
also serve the community-at-large. The campus will provide educational,
cultural, recreational and entertainment activities to all age
groups. In addition to the day school,
major features include an Early Childhood Education Center, Senior
Center, Counseling Center, Fitness and Recreation Center, Gymnasium,
Aquatic Center, Cultural Arts Pavilion and administrative offices
for the agencies. The campus will be in full operation
in 2004.
Jewish
Community Center (JCC) of Orange County
The
JCC provides county-wide social, educational, cultural and recreational
programs and activities, all of which are designed to enrich
Jewish life. It serves every age group from preschoolers to senior
adults. The objective of the JCC is to provide services and programs
of common interest, not readily available elsewhere in the community,
with the ultimate goal of creating a community of learning Jews,
knowledgeable of and committed to Jewish values and respectful

Pacific
Opera
Pacific is considered to be one of the top opera companies in
the nation and strives to offer audiences new artistic experiences
at the theatre. As Orange County’s resident opera company

Joseph Ballet
Since
1983, Saint Joseph Ballet has utilized dance as a way to engage
and inspire youth in underserved populations of Orange County
who ordinarily may not have the opportunity to explore the arts.
Through dance education- and also academic, mentoring, enrichment,
and family service programs- Saint Joseph Ballet strives to help
children build self-confidence, develop discipline and focus,
and set and achieve goals. Throughout its growth, Saint Joseph
Ballet has increased its services to its students and their families
to focus on the children and their entire well-being. This includes
college scholarships to all high school graduates who meet the

and Creativity for Healing
Art and
Creativity for Healing offers free painting classes and
art workshops that utilize art and color as vehicles to help process
emotions related to illness, stress, and grief. Participants in
the workshops include individuals touched by chronic and terminal
illnesses, at-risk and disadvantaged youth, recovering adults,
and many other populations. Art and Creativity for Healing provides
on-site programs to a variety of hospitals and nonprofit agencies
